There's something about working in gold that never gets old. The warmth, the richness of the color, the way it catches the light, and the permanence of the material itself. Gold has been treasured for thousands of years, and I love being part of that long tradition of making beautiful things from it.
I'm Abby Meadows, the metalsmith behind Mettle by Abby, and this collection brings together my gold-focused jewelry designs, handcrafted in my Woodstock, Georgia studio.
Solid Gold, Never Plated
I work with solid 14k gold, not gold plating or gold-filled materials. These are pieces made with precious metal through and through, created to be worn, enjoyed, cared for, and passed along.
Some designs incorporate small amounts of Argentium sterling silver as a contrasting element, but gold is the defining material throughout this collection.
You'll find handmade gold rings, necklaces, earrings, and other individually crafted pieces, often featuring natural gemstones chosen for their color, character, and individuality.
Traditional Metalsmithing, Made to Last
I love the process of working directly with metal—forming, soldering, shaping, texturing, and finishing each design by hand. Gold is especially rewarding to work with because of its beauty, versatility, and enduring value.
My designs aren't about following a particular trend. They're about creating something interesting and personal, with the kind of craftsmanship and materials that make a piece worth keeping.

Every piece I make has its own character, and my one-of-a-kind gold jewelry is created only once. As pieces find their owners, new designs take their place.
I also offer custom gold jewelry, including redesigning heirloom pieces using a customer's own gold. There's something particularly meaningful about taking a precious material with a history and giving it a new life.
