Collection: Black and White

Black & White Gemstone Jewelry | Bold Contrast & Natural Patterns

I've always loved a good contrast. Deep black against bright white, soft gray between the two, or an unexpected flash of color that makes everything around it more interesting.

Natural gemstones can create some incredible combinations of color and pattern. Sometimes the contrast is sharp and graphic. Other times, it's softer and more organic, with delicate veining, interesting inclusions, or subtle variations that make you want to look a little closer.

Jewelry with Contrast & Character

This collection brings together my handmade black and white gemstone jewelry, along with pieces featuring striking patterns, contrasting tones, and occasional touches of color.

I love the way these stones can feel both dramatic and understated. A boldly patterned gemstone might become the centerpiece of a statement ring, while a simple black stone can make a beautifully versatile pair of earrings.

The contrast can come from the stone itself, the relationship between the gemstone and its setting, or the combination of different materials within a design.

Naturally Individual, Handmade by Me

I'm Abby Meadows, the metalsmith behind Mettle by Abby. I create my jewelry in Woodstock, Georgia, using traditional metalsmithing techniques, natural gemstones, solid 14k gold, and Argentium sterling silver.

I particularly enjoy working with stones that have unusual markings or unexpected details. Rather than trying to make every piece look identical, I let the individual character of the materials influence the design.

You'll find handmade gemstone rings, earrings, necklaces, and other one-of-a-kind pieces in this collection. As jewelry sells and new designs are finished, the selection changes.
